I begin a new painting with brush strokes of color that call to me, then I follow the direction that the painting dictates. I never approach the canvas with preconceived ideas.

My mind goes silent and I let the painting take over. The most important thing for me is to focus on the process and not the result. Most of all, I try to just let go.

My best work comes from a place of quiet and inner peace.

I paint fast and spontaneously. It helps me cover more ground and allow the spirit to flow through me. The painting takes on a life of its own. It gives me confidence, to trust where I am going and not worry about the destination.

When I am painting, the cares of the world are left behind. I am free to let my thoughts be quiet and allow my focus to be on each next step as it arrives.

When I focus on the enjoyment of painting, and not on the approval of others, I produce better work.

If I define success by how many paintings I sell, I will never be satisfied.

I have works in private collections in Texas, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

My work has been featured at Silent Poetry in Burnsville, NC, The Appalachian Artisan Society Gallery in Old Fort, NC, Mountain Java in Candler and Asheville, NC, The Garage in Asheville, NC, Green Hands Healing Center, Asheville, NC, Razcal's Restaurant in Asheville, True Blue Art Supply, Asheville NC, Neo Burrito on Patton Avenue in Asheville, NC, The Alligator Grille in Murrells Inlet, SC, the North Myrtle Beach City Hall, Fitness X, Studio B, and the Whispering Palms Art Gallery in Myrtle Beach, SC.

I was also featured in a show at Adorn Salon & Boutique in Asheville, NC and at the North Myrtle Beach City Hall in SC.

I have been named Global Art Collectors Artist of the Week as well as nominated for Facebook's World Art Critics Artist of the Month.

I am also an amateur photographer.

hey Celeste, why do not you manage the submits of your group Building-Photos? I submit always but in the last months nobody vote them and they expire-
cjheery Featured By Owner 4 days ago  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
I checked into it, and I don't see anything in settings that should keep me from getting submissions to approve.  I changed the option to allow members' submissions to the Featured folder to be automatically approved until I can find out what's going on.  Please try to submit again.

I tried but now it says I can submit only one per week and it has done. So I think you should look the group-messages and you see there the waiting submits. In your message center at the left side under the inbox you see the groups. If you click on then you get the groups messages.

Hmm...that's odd.  I haven't received any notification of submissions.  I'll look into it.

Yeah, and I can explain why I think it: because I see my old photo, the Narrow houses which one I submitted last november. And each time when I submit an architecture I submit into your group too. It means around 30 lost submits of me. Plus the other guys...

Have a nice day!

Did you get permission to photograph Lorton prison before hand? I tried doing a shoot there earlier in the year, but I was escorted off  the property. If you did, do you know who I can speak to to get permission?

My Meetup group got special permission.  This property is protected by a gate.  Sorry, but I don't know who they got in touch with for our special tour.  There is a power plant near the Workhouse art buildings that you can access as long as security doesn't see you.  That place is pretty cool.  Here are some photos I took there:….
